Is ProFight FC-Block a Diet Pill That Works?

ProFight Supplements caters to body builders.  Their site is typical…a black and red color scheme, men with tattoos and more muscle than they know what to do with.  And the catchy tagline ‘KNOCKOUT RESULTS’ (repeat with echo.)  All they really need in our opinion is a woman in a black workout bra.  Oh wait…they have one. 

But do they have a product that works?  Most companies are more into using flash (in the form of their websites), to generate cash, than providing a top notch diet product that generates RESULTS.

FC-Block (‘FC’ for ‘Fats’ and ‘Carbohydrates’) is marketed as a fat and carbohydrate blocker, so you can eat all those fatty and carb-laden foods that you enjoy, without the guilt and the additional inches to your waistline.  The problem being-we don’t buy it.  And the reason we haven’t fallen in love? The ingredients.  Let’s look at them shall we?

How Does ProFight FC-Block Work?

All-in-all, there’s only one scientifically proven ingredient in this product, and it’s delivered in a 1500 mg proprietary blend.   Blends typically hide ineffective ingredient quantities.  Let’s do a quickie review of what’s in this one:

White Kidney Bean Extract-White Bean Extract is your typical carb blocker fare.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t really block carbs.  What it does is prevents them from being broken down.  Larger carbohydrate masses are burned faster for energy.   So if you’re eating few carbs and are working out hard on a daily basis, this ingredient may be beneficial.  But don’t expect it to block and eliminate mass quantities of ‘fried calamari and tiramisu.’

Chloson-this ingredient name doesn’t actually exist.  We think they’ve given ‘Chitosan’ a ProFight twist.  Chitosan has been marketed for years as a fat blocker.  Unfortunately, the only proven fat blocking product is Alli.  Chitosan-schmitosan.

Chromium Chelate-an ingredient clinically proven to provide weight loss results!  An essential mineral, it promotes a strong and healthy metabolism by helping the body absorb glucose more efficiently so it can be used for energy rather than be stored as fat.  It also suppresses carbohydrate cravings.  Again, we don’t know how much of this excellent ingredient you’re getting in a 1500 mg proprietary blend. 

Vanadium Chelate-a trace mineral that may be helpful in promoting healthy carbohydrate metabolism. An unproven ingredient.

Calcium Pyruvate-may aid with proper carbohydrate digestion. Needed for healthy metabolism.  Another unproven ingredient.

There is a guarantee fromProFight Sports, but it’s not that great, unfortunately.  You have 20 days only from the time of purchase (not receipt), to return the product if  it’s more than 25% full of product (empty bottles do not qualify.) A $7.85 fee is applied, and the return shipping comes out of your pocket. 

Does ProFight FC-Block Work For Quick Weight Loss?

We believe the more important question is does FC-Block WORK at all?  Based on the ingredients, we’d have to say probably not as effectively as you’d like.  Here’s the thing: there’s plenty of diet pills out there that contain clinically tested and proven ingredients to suppress the appetite, raise metabolism, and burn fat.  But the idea of being able to stuff your face like there’s no mañana, and block all the fats and carbs from your system before they’re stored as fat, is just silly.  YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.  And unfortunately, if you lie like broccolli but don’t eat it, and are determined to live on a diet of Cheese Puffs instead, you’re going to resemble one.  If you must use a fat/carb blocker, there are better ones out there.  And make sure you’re still watching your diet and exercising!
