Is Prograde Metabolism a Diet Pill That Works?

And then little Johnny woke up and was still–FAT.  Sorry, I don’t mean to sound skeptic, and Ryan and Jim may well be kind-hearted fitness professionals.  But these statements are more hyped-up than Elvis fans who claim to have seen the king of rock and roll’s ghost in the jungle room. 

But before we completely stamp all over Prograde Metabolism, let’s look at the ingredients because the ingredients never, EVER lie.

How Does Prograde Metabolism Work?

Prograde Metabolism is mainly constituted of a proprietary blend–and even though the dosage is high for a blend (1,955 mg)–proprietary blends are notorious for hiding ineffective dosages of the ingredients that actually work.  I’m not a fan of blends (just as I’m not a fan of Elvis.)  Good diet pills will give you individual dosage amounts–and if applicable– the clinical dose.  Already I’m ‘iffy.’  Here’s what in it:

• L-Tyrosine: for appetite suppression.  That L-Tyrosine works for appetite suppression has not been scientifically determined.
• DL-Methionine, Inositol and Choline Bitartrate; Vitamins B-6, B-12: these ingredients together may burn fat for energy. DL-Methionine is an essential amino acid that helps with detoxification. Inositol when combined with Choline is great for fat burning and metabolism.  Choline Bitartrate aids in the metabolism of fats.  Vitamins B6 and 12 are often thrown into fat burners and weight loss supplements for increased energy.  
• Green tea extract: Green Tea is an antioxidant powerhouse and has been clinically tested for weight loss.  It contains EGCG which has been shown to increase metabolic rate.  It does contain naturally-occurring caffeine which is a stimulant.
• Cinnamon: may be beneficial for blood glucose regulation. If your blood sugar is out-of-whack you will crave sweets and carbohydrates and your body will convert sugars for energy rather than turning to stored fats.  No clinical proof backs this ingredient.
