Is T2 Xtreme a Diet Pill That Works?

If I say ‘no’, will you keep reading?  I didn’t think so, and that’s why I’m not saying no right off the bat.  I’m going to tease you for a little while.  I roll like that.

T2 Xtreme is by manufacturer SAN Nutrition who make all the usual hyped-up claims, complete with smoke machines and laser beams (okay I made that last part up.)  Here are some of the promises regarding T2 Xtreme:

• Promotes Healthy Libido

A-NNNND if you call in the next 10 minutes they’ll include ‘that cellophane skin look.’  Apparently it’s on every body builder’s Christmas wish list! 

T2 Xtreme is clearly marketed towards serious athletes who like to munch on iron for breakfast, lunch and dinner and frequently watch ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter.’  It is not a diet pill for us girlie girls–but it could be beneficial for the men in our life (but only if they believe weight lifting to be a serious profession and not something that’s fiddled with for a few weeks after Jan 1st.)

How Does T2 Xtreme Work?

T2 Xtreme contains a (quote) “complicated pairing of ingredients that took researchers over 4 years to figure out.”  I’m not sure why considering there are only TWO of them.  Sheesh!  The ingredients are two versions (isomers) of the same chemical, but work slightly differently.  They are:

• 3,3′-Diiodo-L-Thyronine (100 mcg)
• 3,5′-Diiodo-L-Thyronine (100 mcg)

These are not actual thyroxine which is a thyroid stimulating hormone (or TSH), but chemical precursors of TSH from beef livers.  They apparently stimulate more thyroid production, thus causing your body to kick into metabolic, pumping, burning gear! 

I have two problems with this–and I’m sure you can’t wait to hear them! First of all, where’s the four-year research that’s created the (quote) “most powerful non-stimulating fat burner in the world!” (SAN’s words not mine.)  If you’ve come up with a revolutionary product that produces mass amounts of thyroid stimulating hormones so your metabolism burns fat before you can even store it, wouldn’t you want the clinical evidence everywhere?  You’d be selling it faster than hot cakes!  

Secondly (hang on while I bite into my hot cake), your body will always compensate for too much of a hormone in your system.  If you over-produce, your body will under-create that same hormone to equalize the hormone in your system.  But wait–SAN claims to have thought of this and that’s why they’ve paired those ingredients that took over 4 years to figure out.  Blah-blah-blah.  Where’s the proof? Where’s a convincing explanation even?  I couldn’t find one behind the smoke screens and mirrors!
