Is Slinky a Diet Pill That Works?

Slinky.  Makes you think of a little black dress, lacy lingerie and a sassy attitude–or the toy.  The makers of Slinky lay it on real thick with the marketing too–this is a product for the ‘girls’ and is “Unique to the World” as a first to offer a fat burning/blocking combo.  This is the kicker though–I am still tittering over it–Slinky is a (quote) “Weight loss pill and fat blocker as used by celebrities.”  Really?  Who?  Give me some names.  Maybe J-Lo?  Jennifer Anniston?  Or my personal fave Gwynny (Gwyneth Paltrow)? 

Sorry ‘girls’, celebrities aren’t exactly queuing up here to endorse this particular diet pill.  I couldn’t find nary a one on the official website–or anywhere else on the net for that matter. 

Nor could I find anything really unique about Slinky’s formula that sets it apart in the world of weight loss–even if they have combined fat burners with a fat absorber.  Is Slinky a diet pill that works?  Probably not.  But before I spout premature damnulations, let’s look at the ingredients. 

How Does Slinky Work?

Slinky does have something going for it–NO PROPRIETARY BLEND! Weeeeeeeeee!  I thought for sure with a name like slinky they’d be something slimy about it, and there’s nothing slimier than a blend.  But I may still find something of the slimy variety–the review is young…

THE FAT BURNERS (drum roll please…)

• Choline Bitartate 150 mgs-an essential nutrient involved in cell structure and metabolic functions.

Alright ‘girls’–we may not be scientists, but we’ve been around the block a few times and weren’t born yesterday.  Let’s break down Slinky’s ingredients shall we? 

The four ‘fat burners’ all occur naturally within the body and there’s absolutely no scientific evidence that 1) increasing their levels will be beneficial to fat burning and 2) they work for fat burning at all.  They’re certainly not top-rated fat burners with clinical study to back them.

Also Chromium Picolinate is a clinically tested and proven weight loss ingredient.  Chromium test subjects ate less and had a significant decrease in carbohydrate and sugar cravings.  The bad news?  The clinical dosage given was between 200-400 mcg per serving.  Slinky’s 50 mcg’s per serving isn’t going to get the job done. 

Finally-Chitosan may absorb fat and if you watch it at work in a container of water/oil solution, it’s impressive.  But when you consider the amount of fat you consume in just about any processed food item, it won’t be able to compensate.
