NEOPIL is more of a home based business opportunity marketed primarily to Hispanics than a diet pill company. One of their few products is NEOPILplus. These diet capsules are meant to be an improvement upon the original NEOPILcaps which the company claims will help you lose weight and have more energy without diet or exercise.  According to the official website NEOPILplus is “for those who have taken at least 3 bottles of NeopilCaps and want to give more speed and size lose weight!” That’s not my bad grammar that actually comes directly from the site.

What’s in NEOPILplus?

NEOPILplus uses some of the ingredients used in the original NEOPILcaps with the addition of Root of Lima and Lemon Grass.

• Root of Lima: Good luck finding anything about this herb. It is a hardwood that makes good mulch but doesn’t seem to have any weight loss properties. After more digging I speculate NEOPIL is actually talking about lime extract. Hard to say.
• Lemon Grass: Commonly used in natural immune system boosters due to its anti-fungal properties.

The other ingredients in NEOPILplus include Papaya Seed, Tepozan and Tecojote Leaf

• Papaya Seed: A good source of fiber and may help to eliminate intestinal parasites.
• Tepozan: The website claims this natural herb has analgesic properties and helps digestion. They also say it cures nosebleeds, swelling, fever, ulcers and helps regulate diabetes. There are no other sources that agree.
• Tecojote Leaf: The Tecojote is a small crab apple like fruit with broad green leaves. The website claims they are a natural diuretic that help digestion, high blood pressure, cough and varicose veins. Again, no other sources agree with those claims.

Is NEOPILplus Safe?

It’s hard to say since there are no independent sources offering any real research into the effects of these ingredients. The doses are also conspicuously absent from the available information so I can’t in good conscience say this is completely safe. It’s my feeling that the ingredients are harmless since they have been used in Mexican folk medicine for generations but I can’t say for sure.

Probably not.
